The staff and students at the Pearson Adult Learning
Centre work hard together, but next week, they will also have the
opportunity to sing, chat, and eat together! On Thursday, December 17th,
students can interact with their classmates and teachers at our holiday
potluck party.
Potluck means that each student and teacher brings some
food to share with others. This food can be an appetizer, a salad, a main
course meal, or some dessert. Please bring enough food for eight to ten
people in a serving dish along with a serving spoon. Make a label to show
the ingredients of the food you bring. In order to reduce our usage of
disposable (throw away) materials, please bring your own plate, cup, spoon
and fork.
At the party, students will receive a copy of the
“Pearson Patter,” our student newsletter. The Pearson Patter contains
writing from students of all levels and includes paragraphs, essays, and
poetry.
We will also be singing Christmas carols (songs)
together. Do you know any? If yes, then sing along! If not, then this is
your chance to learn some! Your teachers will lead you in singing. If you
sing nicely, you might be lucky enough to encounter a special visitor!
Morning students should arrive for their party at 10:30
a.m. Evening students should arrive for their party at 6:30 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you at our holiday
celebration! If you would like to know more about the word, "potluck,"

Potluck.
