An Especially Good Special Tip

Students of mine often make mistakes with "especially" and "special" in their writing. Here is an explanation to help you avoid a mistake in future.

Especially is an adverb; special is an adjective.

For example, "Michael plays piano especially well. Because of this, the school awarded him a special prize.
