Online Writing Lab (OWL)
at Purdue University: Useful Handouts
This week at the PALC English
Students blog I referred students to a set of information on
punctuation. The descriptions and examples were particularly
helpful for students beginning to use the colon, the semicolon,
the dash, and parenthesis.
Not only that, but students
could also print off an exercise to try (with an answer key
available online) as a test of their understanding.
Right now, the OWL website is
being redone. However, the link to their handouts at the old site
is still available and will give you lots to think about and do to
improve your writing quality. Try it and see!
