50 Writing Tools
Written by a journalist, the list of 50 writing
tools makes for powerful reading. Tool one sounds simple enough:
"Begin sentences with subjects and verbs, letting subordinate
elements branch off to the right." But Roy Peter Clark doesn't
leave it at that. He gives an example from the world of journalism
and from John Steinbeck's classic, Cannery Row.
The best part is the Workshop provided at the end
of each tool. Here, you'll find a few ideas for practicing the new
skill described.
If you study one of the tools each week, your
writing will surely improve!
